When you get sent to the Fleet Assistance Program and are given a task away from your normal unit to help around base. Usually, this is a good thing so you can get away from your God damn unit, and might land in a unit that actually cares about you. Sure, you might be doing a dumb job, but it’s better than being with your unit.

I got FAPed out to Base Working Party. It sounds horrible, but it was actually the best year of my Marine Corps career because at least I wasn’t with 2/7, anymore.
