A MESSAGE FROM VET TV

This company was born out of a desire to build community and end veteran suicide. Of course, we wanted to entertain veterans, but that was a means to an end. At our core, we’re a group of veterans who wanted to do something good for our community. We focused on suicide prevention because it was near and dear to our hearts, as all of us have lost friends to suicide. In the last few years, however, we’ve watched some of our California streets become littered with homeless, many of them veterans.

The issue of veteran homelessness wove itself into more of our company conversations, and we finally decided to take action, because Veteran homelessness is an epidemic that our society has been unable to fix. These Americans volunteered or were drafted into military service, and proudly defended the nation, often on the front lines. They gave their country their best, and came home damaged, both mentally and physically.

To all those who are offended by this latest sketch…

We built this business under the assumption that there is a large and untapped market for dark, offensive humor. The same humor that lives behind closed doors at work, in barracks rooms, living rooms, smoke pits, and group text message threads – is the humor that we bring to the screen, and we’ve proven that not only do hundreds of thousands of our nations veterans appreciate dark humor, they’re willing to PAY FOR IT!

All of us who started this company have lost at least one friend to suicide. Since the beginning, we have used highly irreverent comedy to make light of not just suicide, but all of the most serious issues facing the veteran community. The comedy has led to massive awareness, community, conversation, and according to our 10,000 + testimonials, a reduction in suicide.

It’s not conventional, its not understood by all, but it WORKS to bring laughter, connection, and community to those who have served this nation.

So now we’ve picked a new serious veteran issue and built comedy around it. It’s not gonna be immediate, but the net result of our efforts will be a positive impact on veteran homelessness.

If you find yourself offended, or mad, direct that anger and disgust at the community leaders, organizations, and policy makers that refuse to address the tragedy of homelessness in our community.
