A Message From Donny O’Malley

A Grunt’s Life serves two main goals.

First, it celebrates the Infantryman in a way that has never been done before, and fuels their desire to dominate their enemies on the battlefield.

Second, it speaks to the warriors who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan and always wondered if anyone else saw the absurdity of Counter-insurgency like we saw it.

This series explains why the war lasted as long as it did, highlights the stupidity of America’s approach to Afghanistan, and allows us to feel understood – while making us laugh until we can’t breathe.

At the end of the day, active duty warfighters must be excited to go to war, and our veterans must process our war in a way that allows us to move on.

To our nation’s warriors, past and present, this is for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Grunts are infantrymen. They choose to live a savage and spartan life. You become intimate with violence, killing, pain and suffering. Your acquaintances are the cold, the dirt, filth and loneliness. You live in a perpetual state of exhaustion. Your bonds are deeper; the losses are greater. The one thing you can always embrace: the suck. It’s constant and omnipresent. Grunts don’t merely survive; we thrive in the chaos. This is all part of the Infantryman’s Symphony. It’s beautiful. It’s horrible. It’s the Grunt Life.

The two main heroes are played by grunts. The guys who wrote it are grunts. The guys who directed it are grunts. The guys who filmed it are grunts. The guy doing special effects is a grunt. A Grunt’s Life was made by people who lived THE GRUNT LIFE.

Absolutely not. However, if you’re looking for the most authentic, PC-free, and raw recreation of our men in combat, be prepared to step into the world and minds of an infantry platoon during the height of the Afghanistan war. The humor is irreverent and potentially offensive to those that didn’t live that life. If you ever wondered what your sons and daughters’ life was like downrange, you will certainly find out.

We actually needed a calculator to answer this question. You will be pleased with the number of dirt-naps distributed in this bloody season.
