EPISODE 1
INT. WOODEN SHITTER – DAY
LIEUTENANT MURPHY sets his DVD player on the ground, drops his pants, and sits down on the wag bag seat. He beats off until–
A bullet SNAPS through the wall. The hole is visible with sunlight coming through and dust particles in the air.
Murphy stops jacking off for a brief second and looks up at the hole. His bewilderment with the hole is broken by the sounds of 240s returning fire. He looks in the direction of the gunfire, then resumes beating off, this time with more intensity.
MARINE ON POST (RADIO)
Contact from the west!
His black gear radio blares in his ear.
MARINE ON POST (RADIO)
SOG, this is post 2, we’re taking machine gun fire from the northwest, at least a click out.
REYNOLDS (RADIO)
(Yelling) Roger post 2, I copy machine gun fire from the southwest, a click out. I’m enroute.
MARINE ON POST (RADIO)
Negative, I said northwe-
Murphy turns his radio off and resumes the beating. The base comes to life with the sounds of friendly and enemy machine gun fire, explosions from 40mm and RPGs, Marines yelling addracs, yelling for ammo, and mortars firing. Murphy’s focus is inspirational.
There’s an explosion followed by yelling.
REYNOLDS
CORPSMAN! CORPSMAN UP!
(inaudible)–ggers hit!
MURPHY
Fuck.
2.
Murphy stops jacking off, puts his dick away, and tightens his belt. He looks worried as he then exits the porta-shitter.
EXT. PATROL BASE – DAY
He exits the shitter in a hurry and walks through the PB as Marines run up to him with sitreps. SGT O’HARA approaches him first.
O’HARA
I got my squad on the west side, we saw at least 3 machine gunners in the treeline.
MURPHY
Rah.
O’Hara turns to walk away.
MURPHY
Hey, who got hit?
O’HARA
Dunno sir.
O’Hara walks away and SGT REYNOLDS walks up frantically.
REYNOLDS
Sir, second squad’s all accounted for.
MURPHY
Isn’t your squad on post?
REYNOLDS
Yes sir.
Murphy shakes his head with disgust.
MURPHY
Keep your fuckin radio on.
Reynolds speaks into his radio.
REYNOLDS
1 actual this is SOG.
Murphy turns his radio on and looks annoyed.
MURPHY
Go check your squad.
3.
REYNOLDS
Roger that sir.
He hurries away. WITHERS, Sniper TL walks up to Murphy.
WITHERS
Hey sir I got a guy on each wall, we already nailed one dude on a roof. I’ll be on Co Tac, soon as you get your green gear, sir.
MURPHY
Ok tough guy.
Withers walks away, Murphy arrives just outside the CoC.
SSGT RICH comes out.
RICH
Bout fuckin time sir, your pipes all clear?
(smiles)
MURPHY
Yeah, all clear. Who’s hit?
RICH
Still tryin’ to figure that out sir.
Rich gets on his black gear asking for the name of the casualty. COX, the RO, comes out of the CoC tent.
COX
Hey sir, this one’s for company, this one’s for air.
MURPHY
Did you already call it in?
COX
Yes sir. Told em’ we were taking heavy contact.
MURPHY
Roger.
(He leans in to Cox’s ear)
You mind gettin my gear devil?
Cox runs back into the CoC.
MURPHY
You sure Jigger’s not hit? I swore I heard that..
4.
RICH
I didn’t hear that sir.
He goes back to his radio.
RICH
All squads, I need a sitrep.
2 MARINES run to the door of the Aid Station carrying a casualty on a stretcher, Murphy’s eyes get wide and he runs over to the casualty.
MURPHY
Hold up!
As soon as he sees it’s WAGNER his entire demeanor relaxes.
MURPHY
Oh thank God, I thought it was one of our key players.
Rich walks up. Wagner looks like that comment hurt.
RICH
Yeah, I got scared too sir, but we’re good.
MURPHY
You know I been thinkin about how to get rid of this bitch for months.
RICH
Think of all the paperwork he just saved us.
Murphy smiles.
RICH
Yeah, I’ll tear up that page 11 I had waitin’ for him. Just remember, don’t fuckin’ cry pussy.
SGT. VELAZQUEZ walks up.
VELAZQUEZ
Guess it’s our lucky day sir.
MURPHY
You’re tellin me. I thought it was Jigger. I was about to get really bummed out. Don’t you worry Wagner, you’re gonna be eatin’ hot chow in no time.
5.
Murphy looks around confused.
MURPHY
Where’s your fuckin rifle?
VELAZQUEZ
Oh, he dropped it as soon as he got hit, so he claims.
MURPHY
Did you guys call this in to Company yet?
VELAZQUEZ
No sir.
Murphy looks at Wagner and smiles big.
MURPHY
Cool, I’ll call it in as soon as I can.
(smiles again)
Murphy and Velazquez share a moment. Wagner looks like he’s gonna cry. Cox runs up with Murphy’s gear and he begins putting it on as THE TERP walks up.
TERP
Hey sir, the Taliban said they are bringing the big guns for this attack.
(smiles)
MURPHY
No shit? How bout that.
EXT. PATROL BASE PAREMETER – DAY
Murphy and Rich walk to the barrier to view the battlefield. They get on their maps and radios to figure out where the enemy is.
MURPHY
Fox COC, this is 1 actual. We’re taking heavy fire in a coordinated attack. Requesting immediate CAS.
RICH
All stations this is 1 bravo, I need enemy posreps from each squad leader starting with 1-1.
6.
The sound of their radio traffic becomes less audible as they organize the fight and call close air support. We see the conversations that the Marines have during the firefight.
MARINE 1
I wish they’d just bum rush us, this wack-a-mole shit is getting old.
MARINE 2
Napalm bro, napalm.
MARINE 1
For real man…
MARINE 3
OMG, I got one! I got one! Suck my fuckin dick faggot! URRAHHHHH!
MARINE 4
Fuck no you didn’t.
MARINE 3
Oh yeah, check the corner of the wall, next to the 3 trees, and then open your fucking mouth.
MARINE 4
Oh, wow. Ok, yeah, very well sir.
Marine 4 opens his mouth.
MG 2
Where the fuck is he man?
MG 3
Honestly bro, sometimes I just close my eyes, squeeze the trigger, and hope for the best.
MORTARMAN 2
I wonder who were hurting right now.
MORTARMAN 3
A husband, a father, a son. Possibly even his family.
MORTARMAN 2
That’s so wild man. We’re just ending lives right now.
MORTARMAN 3
Is it wrong that it feels so good?
7.
MARINE 5 accidentally shoots a civilian. Instantly regrets.
MARINE 5
Fuck!
MARINE 6
What?
MARINE 5 looks down his scope at the dead civilian.
MARINE 5
Nothing.
Murphy’s CAS 9 line becomes more audible.
MURPHY
Remarks- Troops in contact, and you are danger close, how copy?
A10 PILOT 1
I copy, you guys are still in contact and danger close.
MURPHY
Affirm. You’re cleared hot.
Everyone looks up as a fixed wing comes in. CU on Murphy’s face as it fades to black while we hear the A10 ripping up the ground and Marines cheering.
INT. PLATOON COC – DAY
The Platoon leadership is in the CoC tent debriefing the attack.
MURPHY
Look gents, we can’t accept this shit. We are literally surrounded by the scum of the earth, so when you see some shit, you don’t just fuckin’ let it go. You fuckin tell someone. You take fuckin action. Immediately. When we start lettin this shit slide, this is when we all end up dead. Gent’s, just be grateful we didn’t lose anyone today. We got lucky gents, don’t forget it.
All the Marines look up from their notepads and look at each other confused. Murphy continues talking but his dialogue becomes inaudible.
8.
CROSSON
Did he really just forget about Wagner?
Smits shrugs.
CROSSON
He literally just medevac’d him.
SMITS
Bro, the phantom fury guys are savage as fuck.
Murphy’s dialogue becomes audible again
MURPHY
So if we’re going to keep killin these mutherfuckers we gotta be more vigilant than we were today.
Cox gets up from his seat at the radio.
COX
Sir, the CO is asking for you.
Almost every person in the room looks pissed.
MURPHY
Alright gents, that’s all I got.
Everyone leaves and Murphy walks over to the radio table.
MURPHY
Go for 1.
INT. COMPANY COC – DAY
CAPTAIN BERRY looks at his map. 1STSGT GUNTHER has his arms folded looking at the map too.
BERRY
Roger. I’m gonna need you to conduct a full BDA of the CAS today. Over.
INT. PLATOON COC – DAY
Murphy shakes his head and looks at Rich, who is also shaking his head. Cox puts his head down.
9.
MURPHY
Copy full BDA. 6, most of the area that we executed the CAS in, is riddled with IEDs. It’s pretty much a minefield. Over.
They exchange a glance.
INT. COMPANY COC – DAY
Berry sits down. Gunther hovers over.
BERRY
I copy minefield 1, but I’m still gonna need you to conduct a boots on the ground BDA. How copy?
INT. PLATOON COC – DAY
Murphy puts his hand on his forehead because he’s in disbelief. He looks at Rich, then Cox, who both have their eyebrows raised.
MURPHY
6 are you sure we cant just use ISR for the BDA?
INT. COMPANY COC – DAY
Berry stands up. Gunther looks on like a father who’s waiting for his kid to stand up for himself.
BERRY
That’s a negative 1. These guys might have some intel on them that Battalion’s been trying to get their hands on. How copy?
INT. PLATOON COC – DAY
Cox looks like he’s getting annoyed.
MURPHY
I copy all 6, but we’ve already lost 2 guys in that same spot. I recommend we do a BDA from a distance.
(beat)
How copy?
INT. COMPANY COC – DAY
Berry stands tall and almost shouts.
10.
BERRY
1, I say again. You will conduct a complete fucking BDA before sundown, and you will report back anything you find to me, no later than 2000. How copy 1?
INT. PLATOON COC – DAY
Murphy looks at Rich and Cox angrily.
MURPHY
Roger, copy all. 1 out.
Murphy looks at Rich as if he’s over it. Rich raises his eyebrows.
MURPHY
Yeah, we’re not going into that fuckin minefield.
INT. COMPANY COC – DAY
Gunther crosses his arms and stands in front of the CO.
GUNTHER
Looks like you got your hands full with this one, sir?
Berry shakes his head and walks off.
EXT. TREE LINE – DAY
VELAZQUEZ
Hey sir, you said we’re not goin past the treeline right?
MURPHY
Yep.
He looks at Cox.
MURPHY
I see some pieces a shit to our west. Let’s snap some pics and get the fuck outta here.
VELAZQUEZ
1, 1-3
MURPHY
Go for 1.
11.
VELAZQUEZ
This is as close as I wanna get to the minefield.
MURPHY
Roger, let’s search what we got here.
Velasquez comes up on the first body, BDA 1 and notices that he’s still alive.
VELAZQUEZ
1, we got a live one.
MURPHY
Roger, I’ll come up.
Murphy and DOC walk to the front of the patrol. DOC starts applying aid to WT1 immediately.
Murphy looks around and sees 5 other bodies.
MURPHY
Gimme one team to search and have everyone else on security.
VELAZQUEZ
Roger. (radio) Search team, you’re up. 1 and 3, you’re on security.
MURPHY
I don’t know why the Taliban didn’t come clean up already.
Murphy looks at all the other bodies, then walks to BDA 2, who’s still alive, but definitely going to die. He walks to BDA 3, who’s also dying. He stands there and looks at BDA 4 who’s dead, then BDA 5 who’s dead, then BDA 6 who’s alive.
MURPHY
Hey DOC, stop wasting your time with that one, he’s for sure gonna die. Try to help this one over here, I think he’s got a chance. (BDA 2)
DOC
Sir I’m pretty sure I can keep this one alive.
MURPHY
Doc, you’re gonna have to trust me on this one.
12.
Doc leaves BDA 1 and walks over to BDA 2.
MURPHY
Puts some pep in your step doc, the guys’ bleedin out.
Doc jogs. Two Marines exchange a look that insinuates, “what the fuck is LT talking about?”
Murphy walks to BDA 1, kneels down, then takes a PORK RIB MRE out of his dump pouch and looks around to make sure no ones looking. Then he opens the pouch, rips off a piece of pork, then draws a dick on the guys forehead with pork gravy. The Taliban moans and Murphy smiles. Murphy stuffs the piece of pork in his mouth, puts away the pork rib MRE then pulls out his Kabar, checks his six, puts his knee in the guys face, then knicks the guys’ carotid artery. Murphy lets him struggle for 5 seconds, then the guy goes limp. Murphy puts the kabar away and walks over to the only other living Taliban.
Doc looks up from the casualty.
DOC
Sir, this guys dead.
MURPHY
Ok, go check him! (BDA 4)
Doc walks to BDA 4.
Murphy kneels down at BDA 6.
DOC
He’s dead sir.
Murphy looks up.
MURPHY
Well then fuckin search him doc. Stop makin me micromanage you. This one’s dead, so if everyone’s dead, join the fuckin search party.
Murphy does the same thing as before, except when he knicks the guys carotid he starts screaming. Murphy looks around nervously, then jams the kabar into his trachea. The screaming turns to a “WAAAAAAAAAAAA” sound coming from the guys trachea. Murphy puts his knee over his neck and the noise is muffled.
13.
MURPHY
Oh shit, he’s alive. He probably not gonna make it. But I’ll do my best.
Murphy’s knee is in the guys neck as arterial blood is squirting on his keg, and the guy is trying to push Murphy off of him.
DOC
I’ll help sir.
MURPHY
NO! You help with the search, I got this guy.
Two Marines who are searching a body look at Murphy then exchange glances again.
Two other Marines make a joke about the dead body.
We see Murphy’s back as he’s doing something with one of the dead bodies. We don’t know what he’s doing. Murphy looks intense, like he’s cutting something. When he’s done he looks pleased. He puts something in his pocket and has a mischievous look on his face.
MURPHY
(radio) Ok gents, I think we’re good.
Two Marines drop a body they’re sesarching.
MARINE
Fuck it.
EXT. THUGZ MANSION – DAY
6 Marines clean rifles and talk about the BDA.
Murphy walks up to the Marines with a smile. They prop up a little.
MURPHY
Sup killers.
MARINE 1
Rah sir.
MURPHY
How about a squirt of that CLP?
14.
MARINE 1
Reckon I might have a dab for you sir.
Murphy sits down on a cot and takes some CLP from the guys, then starts cleaning his rifle.
MURPHY
Hey gents, how you holdin up?
MARINE 2
I’m great sir, it’s always a great day in shitghanistan.
Murphy smiles.
MURPHY
I like your spirit killer.
MARINE 1
Sir, does battalion have any idea what it’s like out here?
MURPHY
Probably not gents. They think they do, and I try to tell them what it’s like, but the truth is, no one will ever understand Afghanistan like we do.
MARINE 2
Do you think we’re gonna save this country?
MURPHY
I think there’s a chance, I really do. But no one’s gonna make a bigger impact on this country then us gents. That’s why it’s important that we understand exactly what we’re doin out here.
MARINE 1
Yeah, we’re murdering everyone!
Everyone laughs.
MURPHY
Ok, slow down there war dog, yes, we’re gonna murder all the shit heads, but we’re here to win the hearts and minds of the people.
A couple Marines roll their eyes.
15.
MARINE 2
So you mean, two to the chest and one to head sir?
Everyone laughs. Murphy smiles.
MURPHY
Somethin like that. Just make sure you don’t forget that you’re human beings fellas. We’re gonna have to be animals sometimes, but you can’t go too far to other side.
The Marines ponder this thought for a second. Murphy gets up.
MURPHY
Been a pleasure gents. Good talk, I’ll see ya out there.
ALL THE MARINES
Rah sir!
INT. MURPHY’S TENT – DAY
We see Murphy’s back as he works at his desk. We reveal that he’s cleaning an ear that he cut off a dead Taliban. He cleans it with the same attention to detail that a Warhammer 40,000 gamer would paint his pieces. His headphones are on.(What genre should he listen to?)
He finishes cleaning the ear, holds it up, and smiles.
He brings out a pelican case from under his desk, opens it, and pulls out an ear necklace. He talks to the ear, then puts on the necklace, looks down and smiles.
He reaches back into the pelican case and pulls out an arm. He smiles, dances to the front door, ensures its locked, then dances back to his desk, takes his silkies off, sits down, grabs the arm, and nods to himself.

Cox and NYUGEN are on radio watch.
COX
I dunno man. I’m tryin to have some compassion for these people, but it’s gettin’ really fuckin hard.
NYUGEN
I don’t even know why its hard bro. They’re all prehistoric pieces of shit. Straight up man, subhuman. Fuck em.
COX
Yeah, I know man, but I wanna think a bit more, like, civilized than that. But then I keep comin back to just hatin’ em…
They are interrupted by the radio.
ECP (RADIO)
CoC this is ECP.
COX

COX
What does he want?
ECP (RADIO)
How the fuck should I know? Send the terp.
17.
COX
Roger.
EXT. ECP – DAY
We watch the interaction from the ECP posts perspective. The Terp walks just outside the last barrier with MARINE 8 and MARINE 9, and shakes the Elders hand. The elder lifts up his mandress to show that he has no weapons, then the Marines search him.
MARINE 6
What do you think they’re saying?
MARINE 7
Oh the ush. Quotin the Quran, talkin about how cool Mohammed is, planning how to kill us. No big.
MARINE 6
(In afghan accent)
Abdullah, how are we going to kill dee americans?
MARINE 7
(In afghan accent)
Achmed, act like you know a nigga, you know that suicide bombings have always been my favorite.
MARINE 6
(In afghan accent)
Ahhhh, yes, dis is true. Do you any have HME?
MARINE 7
(In afghan accent)
Shit, no, I used my all HME for IEDs near the wadi, I’m fresh out.
MARINE 6
(In afghan accent)
Ahh shit. Let’s just tell the Taliban everything about this base so they can kill them very easy.
MARINE 7
(In afghan accent)
Allauakbar, that is great idea, I wish I think of that. Well come inside and learn everything you can about this base.
18.
MARINE 6
(In afghan accent)
Don’t mind if I do.
The Marine with the Terp radios the CoC.
INT. PLATOON COC – DAY
ECP
COC this is ECP
COX
Go for COC.
Murphy walks into the COC sipping a cup of coffee.
ECP
This guy claims to know where there’s an IED maker, says it’s not too far from here.
MURPHY
Search him and bring him in.
COX
Search him and bring him in.
EXT. ECP – DAY
We’re still watching from the ECP posts perspective. Marine 8 nods his head as if to say, “come on in guys.” The 4 of them head inside the base.
MARINE 7
(In afghan accent) Omg Im so happy, these Marines are just as stupid as we are!
MARINE 6
(In afghan accent) No kidding! I thought Afghans were the stupidest people on the planet!
MARINE 7
(In afghan accent) Allauakbar!
EXT. THUGZ MANSION – DAY
The Terp walks towards the COC with the elder. We see from the perspective of the Marines. Murphy shakes the elders hands with on hand on his heart and they being talking.
19.
MARINE 1
How much you wanna bet LT’s thinkin’ about killin this guy?
Murphy looks genuine.
MARINE 2
Really? He’s always so polite with the locals. I don’t think so.
Murphy and the two guys laugh.
MARINE 1
Yeah, you haven’t seen his dark side have you?
CU on Murphy as he appears to be listening intently to the elder.
MARINE 2
No, what do you mean?
CU on Murphy as he appears to say something genuine while holding one hand on his heart.
MARINE 1
LT is cordial as fuck, but I think all he dreams about is killing these people.
Murphy smiles and makes a motion that insinuates he’ll be right back.
INT. PLATOON COC – DAY
MURPHY
Fox 6, 1 actual.
INT. COMPANY COC – DAY
Berry has a plate of hot chow in front of him.
BERRY
Go for 6.
MURPHY

We got a village elder here who claims he knows where there’s an IED maker in our AO. Says it’s in Surkyan just a couple klicks from here.

He also said that he’ll take us to the exact house if we can relocate his family to Kabul.

20.
INT. COMPANY COC – DAY
BERRY
Ok, well, let’s go check it out.
MURPHY
6, I’d like to do some recon of the area first before we go knockin’ on doors.
INT. COMPANY COC – DAY
BERRY
1, I want you to check out whatever this is telling you right now. If there’s an IED maker in your AO, and he gets away because we didn’t seize the initiative, we failed.
MURPHY
6, this guy could be lyin his ass off. We don’t know who he is or who he’s workin for.
INT. COMPANY COC – DAY
BERRY
Ok, 1, let me be more clear. A potential HVT is one of the Battalion Commanders CCIRs. So you will to conduct a soft knock on this house today, and you will report your findings back to me, today. How copy?
Murphy closes his eyes and looks down for a beat. Then he looks back up.
MURPHY
What about relocating his family to Kabul?
INT. COMPANY COC – DAY
BERRY
Tell him it’s not a problem.
Murphy nods and smiles sarcastically.
21.
MURPHY
Roger, 1 out.
Murphy is infuriated and stressed out.
INT. COMPANY COC – DAY
Berry puts his headset down and happily gets ready to eat his dinner.
INT. PLATOON COC – DAY
COX
So, are we headin out sir?
Murphy looks at him angrily, sighs, and leaves the COC.
EXT. PLATOON COC – DAY
Murphy exits the COC and sees the Terp. He looks around for a second.
TERP
Where’s Mohammed?
Terp shrugs.
EXT. THUGZ MANSION – DAY
Mohammed sits by himself on a cot. Behind him and directly over his head is the sign, “Thugz Mansion.” He looks confused and out of place. A Marine offers him a cigarette. Mohammed looks at him like he’s weird. The Marine offers him a dip. Mohammed looks at him like he’s weird. The Marine shrugs and walks away.
EXT. TERRAIN MODEL – DAY
The platoon leadership stands around the terrain model in FROG gear.
VELASQUEZ
Sir, we could set the outer cordon around this little green zone, put the inner cordon around the compound, and then–
REYNOLDS
Search team could blow their way in through this wall.
22.
RICH
What if there’s people home and they’ll let us in the front door?
ASSAULTMAN
I got so much C4 I say we still blow our way in.
VELASQUEZ
Sir, how sure are we that this is the right compound?
Murphy looks confused.
FLASHBACK:
EXT. PLATOON COC – DAY
Murphy, Terp, Mohammed and Rich are looking at a map.
MURPHY
This is the town of Surkyan. We are here. Which building is the compound with the IED maker?
TERP
Translates.
Mohammed looks at the map confused, he pulls it in closer, then points to a compound.
MURPHY
You’re sure that’s the one with IEDs? How do you know?
TERP
Translates.
Mohammed looks at the map confused again, pulls it in closer, then points to another compound, no where near the first one.
MOHAMMED
Speaks pashtu.
TERP
He says it could be this one too.
Murphy looks at Rich.
END FLASHBACK:
EXT. TERRAIN MODEL – DAY
Murphy looks at Velasquez with genuine sincerity.
23.
MURPHY
It’s pretty fuckin solid intel gents.
Murphy and Rich exchange a glance.
MURPHY
But as always, we gotta be prepared for the worst.
Velasquez and O’Hara exchange a glance.
O’HARA
Maybe we should set the outer cordon a bit farther out, just to avoid this blind spot.
He points to a treeline on the terrain model.
MURPHY
I like that, we can tighten up the cordon once we enter the compound.
The camera moves behind a Marines head and time fast forwards to the moment someone else is talking. This repeats 3 times until we land on Murphy.
MURPHY
Ok gents I feel good about this. 1st, you’re runnin the show. I want the order briefed by 1500.
Velasquez and Reynolds look disappointed.
O’HARA
Rah sir.
Everyone leaves the terrain model except for O’Hara.
INT. WEIGHT ROOM – DAY
Marines pass time, have conversations about-
How good the intel is.
How Reynolds never gets good missions cuz he sucks asshole at being a squad leader.
INT. CHOW HALL – DAY
Marines pass time, have conversations about-
24.
How pissed LT was, when he was talking to the CO on the radio.
What they will do if they actually catch an IED maker.
EXT. TERRAIN MODEL – DAY
1st squad is standing around the terrain model planning the patrol. All are in FROG gear. O’Hara looks around to make sure no one else can hear him.
O’HARA
Look gents, when we get into that building, we shoot first, and ask questions later, good to go?
The Marines all nod with excitement.
INT. BERTHING TENT – DAY
Marines pass time, have conversations about-
What girls they want to smash.
What they would do if an afghan woman wanted to fuck one of them.
EXT. JUST OUTSIDE OF THE WIRE – NIGHT
Murphy digs up a body he has buried right outside the hescoes, he pisses and shits in the open mouth of a long dead Taliban.
ESTIMATED TIME 1 MIN
EXT. TERRAIN MODEL – DAY
Murphy and O’Hara brief the raid for all the platoon leadership, and for 1st squad. Everyone going on the patrol is in battle rattle.
This brief should go into the cordon and knock in greater detail so the audience understands the squads movement on the objective. It ends with someone telling Murphy that the CO is on the radio asking for him.
ESTIMATED TIME 4 MINS
25.
INT. PLATOON COC – DAY
Murphy walks in. Marine 3 is holding up the headset. Murphy takes the headset from him.
MURPHY
Go for 1.
BERRY
1, I haven’t received a patrol route from you yet.
MURPHY
We just finished briefing the order sir, that’s comin next.
BERRY
Solid copy. Interrogative, slight change of plans. Since your source hasn’t been vetted through HET, we’re gonna hold off on promising any favors.
Murphy looks like he’s going to have a heart attack.
BERRY
He’ll need to be vetted and then produce some results before he get’s anything from us. How copy?
MURPHY
6, I told you 6 hours ago that this whole patrol was a bad idea until we knew more about this guy.
BERRY
Yeah I copy all, 1. That was before. I’ve reviewed the current sit and made my decision.
Murphy closes his eyes as if the news is painful.
MURPHY
So, we’re canceling the patrol correct?
BERRY
That’s a negative 1, the patrol is a GO!
Murphy opens his eyes and looks like he’s going to explode. He puts the handset down and walks away. Just before he gets to the COC door,
26.
RADIO WATCH
Sir, what do I tell the CO?
MURPHY
Tell him the patrol route will be briefed any minute.
Murphy leaves. The radio watch picks up the handset hesitantly and puts it to his ear.
